Types of Transports

Wheelchair Transports

At IBM Transportation, we take pride in our ability to accommodate passengers of all needs, including those requiring wheelchair transportation. Over 80% of our total transports involve wheelchairs, and we are equipped to handle a variety of wheelchair types, including push wheelchairs, transporter chairs, bariatric wheelchairs, electric scooters, power wheelchairs, and Broda chairs.

Our bedside-to-doctorside service ensures that passengers are picked up or dropped off in the comfort of their own room and delivered directly to the doctor's reception desk or vice versa. We can utilize the passenger's or client facility's own wheelchair or provide our own IBM Transportation wheelchair, transporter, or bariatric chair. Our vehicles are equipped with a rear-entry 34" ramp capable of accommodating up to 750lbs in total weight. Additionally, our mini-van fleet is designed for flexibility, allowing us to secure passengers using a four-point Q-Straint and seat belt system. Our drivers are trained to use proper lifting and gait belt techniques to safely assist patients who require assistance transferring from one chair to another.

For bariatric clients weighing over 275lbs, we offer the IBM Transportation Bariatric Wheelchair Service, which includes all the benefits of our regular wheelchair service plus a custom-built vehicle with a 48" wide ramp capable of supporting up to 1,000lbs.

Stretcher Transports

IBM Transportation Quality Care and Transport offers a specialized service for non-emergency stretcher transport using our specially equipped vans. Our goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and comfortable way to transport loved ones or patients who are unable to sit in a wheelchair.

Our Stryker Power Pro stretcher transports are equipped with hydraulic lifting capabilities, slide sheets, and a two-person crew who are experts in bed-to-bed transfers. Compared to traditional ambulances, families and care facilities can save hundreds of dollars per transport since health insurance coverage for non-emergency stretcher transport is limited. Our private mini-vans provide a smooth and comfortable ride, without the use of lights and sirens that can cause concern to the neighbors.
